About Me.
Hi, I’m Issy.
I’m a Ballymaloe-trained chef from London, now based in New York City. I created Chef Iz B to bring people thoughtful, seasonal and delicious food into their everyday lives. The type of food I’ve always loved.
I grew up in the UK, in a family where food was central to everyday life. We ate dinner at the table together each night, Sunday roasts were a weekly ritual, and the kitchen was the heart of the home. I involved myself in cooking from an early age and some of my earliest memories involve weighing out ingredients for Victoria sponge cakes with my Granny, barely tall enough to reach the kitchen counter.
I developed a love for feeding people, cooking for family and friends and turning ordinary moments into something worth sitting down together for.
After five years working in the corporate world, I decided to take the leap and pursue my love of food. I left my job and headed to Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland.
Since then, I’ve staged in London restaurant kitchens and worked as a private chef for clients on holiday and at yoga retreats, alongside catering and other freelance cooking projects.
What I've learned along the way is that eating well doesn't need to be complicated. I'm drawn to food that is seasonal, nourishing and full of flavour - food that makes you feel good, but still gives you something to look forward to at the end of a long day.
